MEETINGS
at TBG
Nine informative meetings are held each year at the Toronto Botanical Garden (formerly the Civic Garden Centre) at 777 Lawrence Avenue East, at Leslie Street, in Metropolitan Toronto (see map).
Unless otherwise specified, meetings are on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm. and are held in one of the upper-level Studios.  You are welcome to attend one of these meetings as a visitor without any charge.

  • 15 January 2019:
    • Annual General Meeting,  followed by . . .
    • Photo Competition Slideshow – a presentation of the photos entered into 2018's photographic competition.
    • Succulent Singapore Travelogue by Nate Lovejoy.
  • 19 February 2019:
    • Uebelmannia mania!,  by Vladimir Andrenkov.
    • Tokyo Travelogue,  by Sonia Kang.  An exploration of Tokyo’s plant shop offerings of C&S from Tokyu Hands, Neo Green, Morita, Niko and..., Aoyoma Flower Market, and Kakusen-En.
    • If time permits: Gymnocalycium : the naked-flowering cacti,  by Dave Naylor.
  • 23 February 2019 (Saturday):
    We will be represented at the Toronto Botanical Garden's "Get The Jump On Spring" on Saturday, February 23, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • 19 March 2019:
    • Genus of the Month: Discocactus – all-season-growing cacti by Vladimir Andrenkov.  
    • Plants’ adaptations to dry environments,  by Hanna Ciurzynska.
  • 16 April 2019:
    • Pots and Containers for Succulent Plants,  by Ben Nogueira.
    • Growing Caudiciforms Indoors,  by Mark Curtis.
  • 21 May 2019:
    • Epiphytic cacti,  by Hanna Ciurzynska.
    • Grafting Cacti Workshop,  by Mark Curtis and Jack Lin.
  • 1-2 June 2019 (Saturday-Sunday):
    Annual Show & Sale at Allan Gardens Conservatory, in the Learning Centre greenhouses (main entrance off Carlton Street, east of Jarvis.)
     The Show & Sale is open to the general public on Saturday from 11:00 am. until 4:00 pm.  and Sanday from 10:00 am. until 3:00 pm. Free admission.  Wheelchair accessible.
  • 18 June 2019:
    • Genus of the Month: Alluaudia,  by Ben Nogueira.
    • Growing Succulents from Seeds,  Dalibor Tichak.
  • No formal meetings are held in July and August, but one or two summer picnics may be held at members' homes.  Dates, times, locations and driving instructions will be announced in the club's newsletter.
  • 17 September 2019:
    • Club Auction of members' surplus C&S plants and other hobby-related items.
      Note:  The auction is open to non-members with payment of a $10 surcharge prior to bidding.  Full memberships will also be available at the meeting.
  • 15 October 2019:
  • 19 November 2019:
    Program to be announced.
    Note: Closing date for entry into Photographic Competition.
  • No meeting is held in December.
  • 21 January 2020:
    • Annual General Meeting,  followed by . . .
